Why should I shop with Personalised Chopping Boards?
We are a small, family run business, and we pride ourselves on excellent communication skills and attention to customer service. With only 3 of us here in the office, your enquiry will be personally handled by the person you first make contact with, and won’t get lost among a chain of command. We also spend a lot of time sourcing quality products that we know are of great value, all of which we love to own for our own homes.
How does your website work? How do I personalise my item?
The designs that you find on our website are templates, and the details that you provide (for example, in the fields that say First Name, Second Name, etc), simply replace the details shown on the example. On each product page, you will find a list of personalisation fields where you can enter the details you’d like. Not all fields are required, and optional fields will be marked as such. The design templates also extend to capitalisation; where you will see a design all in capitals, even if you provide the details in lower case, it will be engraved in capitals (and vice versa). Unless we are given specific instructions during checkout in the Order Notes section, or are contacted before or after the order is placed, the board is made exactly according to the template. Not all fonts are available in both capital and lower case letters, so bear in mind, it may not always be possible to fulfil your request.
Do you do custom designs?
We sure do! We are happy to organise changes to any of the designs listed on our website, or organise a whole new design for you at no additional cost. Head over to our Customs Designs page and fill out the form. We’ll get back to you within 24 hours of your enquiry (Monday to Friday).
Why don’t you sell and engrave Bamboo chopping boards?
Whilst Bamboo is a cheaper option, there are a few reasons why we don’t sell these boards on our site. Bamboo, in comparison to timbers we source and sell, resists water due to the density of the wood and not natural oils, meaning this will dull your knives faster. As Bamboo is technically a grass, we find that engravings do not come out as rich and have quite a pixelated or jagged edge. Bamboo boards are also very light in nature, and they do not have a robust weight and feel.
What is your turnaround time?
We aim to make and ship all orders either same day they are placed, or next business day. Orders are shipped from Albury NSW – Free Standard Shipping applies to all orders Australia wide*, and Express shipping can be selected for an additional fee.
How long does delivery take? Is my item sent from overseas?
We engrave all of our items ourselves, right here in our Australian workshop! We don’t outsource any of our engraving overseas so all deliveries are sent from within Australia. Delivery time varies based on your location, which you can read more about here in our Deliveries section, however as a general rule, orders should be delivered within 7 business days no matter your location.
Do I need to pay for Express Shipping?
Whilst we do everything we can to stick by our turnaround time, sometimes our shipping companies can let us down during transit. If you require your item within a 2-3 days, we highly recommend paying for Express Shipping to ensure it arrives in time for when you need it.
What is “Authority to Leave”?
Authority to Leave means giving our courier permission to leave your item in the event you won’t be home to receive it. If you have a safe place for your parcel to be left, we highly recommend providing Authority to Leave (including a place for the parcel to be left) as this helps avoid any delivery-related delays and ensures you will receive your parcel in a good time frame.
Do you ship outside of Australia?
Unfortunately, shipping outside of Australia is very expensive and often times, the shipping cost is worth more than the cost of the item. There are also different custom restrictions for wooden items into most countries, and it couldn’t be guaranteed that there wouldn’t be an importing issue. If you would like to obtain a quote to ship internationally, please contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the item and international address.
What are the care instructions on your cheeseboard and chopping boards? Can I put them in the dishwasher?
We recommend that your board be washed with warm soapy water and wiped dry. Avoid soaking in water, and do not put through the dishwasher as this can cause your board to crack. Over time, water can cause wood to dry out – we recommend rubbing your board with Butcher Block Oil or Grapeseed Oil from time to time, or after each use. You can simply use a soft sponge to apply and rub in the oil.
Do you provide proofs upon ordering?
We only provide proofs upon request. When providing proofs, we need written or verbal confirmation to go ahead with your order and this can cause delays between placing your order and receiving your order. Often times, we find that proof emails are overlooked. If you would like to request a proof with your order, please put this request in the ‘Order Notes’ section during checkout, however please note that this can delay your order up to 24 hours.
Why does my bank statement/PayPal account show a charge from Gift Society Pty Ltd Albury?
Personalised Chopping Boards is a division of our company Gift Society. Due to an overwhelming response to our personalised boards, we decided to dedicate a whole website to these products to make it easier to find what you’re looking for.
